It probably does! However the addon is optimized for Minecraft latest public version specifically! It might still work nicely! Cheers! ; )

Only the host needs to have the addon! However people who join shouldn't have older addon versions in their cache tho! It could cause bugs etc! Always get rid of older versions before installing new ones! Cheers! ; )
