Minecraft Preview 26.70.20 Adds Brittle Ice and Jukebox Playlists
Minecraft Bedrock Preview 26.70.20 is out, and it adds more content from the upcoming fourth game drop of 2026. The main additions are Brittle Ice, crevasses in the Ice Cave biome, and jukebox playlists, along with a large batch of fixes and new tools for creators.
Brittle Ice and Crevasses
Brittle Ice is a new block that cracks when a player or mob steps on it and breaks after three cracks. It never melts, and it generates naturally or when water flows next to Blue Ice. Cracking and breaking produce ice particles and vibrations, so it can also trigger sculk sensors.
The block ties into the new crevasses that now generate in the Ice Cave biome. These are deep cuts in the ice with Brittle Ice on the surface and water pools at the bottom, so one wrong step can drop you down. Frostbite mobs can stand on Brittle Ice without breaking it, and creators can give the same ability to any mob with the new minecraft:can_stand_on_brittle_ice component.
Jukebox Playlists
You can now turn a jukebox into a playlist player. Place a Chest, Trapped Chest, or any Copper Chest variant directly above a jukebox, and the discs inside will play in slot order. Empty slots and non-disc items are skipped, and the list loops. When a disc ends, the next one swaps in, and ejecting a disc skips to the next track. If the chest holds only one disc, it simply repeats.
