Minecraft Bedrock Preview 26.70.22: Snow Bricks and Cold Sulfur Cubes
Minecraft Bedrock Beta and Preview 26.70.22 lets you test more features from the fourth game drop of 2026. The highlights are a new Snow Bricks block set for winter builds and a Cold archetype for sulfur cubes that freezes water as it moves. As always, Mojang is asking players to send feedback at feedback.minecraft.net and report bugs at bugs.mojang.com.
Snow Bricks
Snow Bricks are a new snow-themed brick set, so you can build a full winter wonderland with snow bricks, snow brick slabs, stairs, and walls. They are a decorative building block like the other brick sets, and they do not melt. The best tool for mining them is a shovel.
Cold Sulfur Cubes
Sulfur cubes get a new Cold archetype. You get it by equipping a sulfur cube with a blue ice block. A cold sulfur cube creates frosted ice when it moves over water source blocks, much like the Frost Walker enchantment. In every other way it behaves like the Fast Sliding archetype, so it also works well for quickly freezing a lake or building an ice path.
Block Changes
- Packed Ice Bricks are now placed in the Creative inventory right after their sulfur counterparts
- Packed Ice Bricks make note blocks play the Chime sound
- Packed Ice Bricks slabs and stairs now submerge correctly in lava and water
- All parts of the Packed Ice Bricks set now use the same naming pattern as the other brick sets
- Wandering traders now sell one Ice Crystal for two emeralds
Mob Changes
- Husks and drowned now convert into zombies before becoming Frostbites when submerged in powder snow
- Zombies, husks, and drowned no longer take freezing damage in powder snow
- Villagers and zombie villagers now spawn as their snowy variants in Ice Caves
Sound
Brittle Ice now shows the correct closed captions when it cracks.
