Minecraft Preview 26.70.23 Adds Calcite Bricks, Pillars and a New Music Disc

Minecraft Bedrock Beta and Preview 26.70.23 brings the final features of the upcoming fourth game drop of 2026 into testing. The main additions are the long-awaited calcite block sets and a new music disc composed by Hyper Potions. Mojang is also asking for feedback at feedback.minecraft.net and bug reports at bugs.mojang.com.

Calcite Block Sets

Calcite now has its own set of building blocks, and there are two new variants for builders. Their marble-like look suits a winter build well. All of them are decorative building blocks.

• Calcite stairs, slabs, and walls that match the existing calcite block
• A polished calcite block set
• A polished calcite brick block set
• A calcite pillar block

New Music Disc

The update adds a new music disc with the song "flurry" by composer Hyper Potions. It has a 30% chance to be found in igloo chests, so it is a good reason to dig into igloo basements. It also pairs well with the new jukebox playlists.

Ice Block Changes

• Packed Ice Bricks and Chiseled Packed Ice now conduct redstone signals
• Packed Ice and Packed Ice Bricks can be used in a stonecutter to make Packed Ice Bricks, slabs, stairs, walls, and Chiseled Packed Ice
• Packed Ice Brick walls no longer stop chests from opening
• Brittle Ice, Packed Ice Bricks, Chiseled Packed Ice, and Snow Bricks now block light correctly, so mobs underneath no longer burn in daylight
• All parts of the Packed Ice Bricks set now play the correct sounds

Other Changes

• Jukeboxes no longer emit vibrations when you take a disc or swap one from their playlist
• Being on fire now stops freezing from building up until the fire goes out
• Standing in fire or lava while freezing no longer plays the fizz sound and particles nonstop
• Being killed by an ice ball now shows the correct death message
