Minecraft LIVE 2026 brought a packed lineup of announcements, but the biggest surprise was the first look at Chaos Cubed, a brand new game drop coming later this year.

Chaos Cubed: New Biome, New Blocks, New Mob

Chaos Cubed introduces sulfur caves, a new underground biome filled with toxic pools that cause a disorienting effect when you get too close. Two new block sets come along with it: cinnabar and sulfur.

The real star of the drop is the sulfur cube, a completely new type of mob that can absorb blocks and change its behavior based on what it consumes. Feed it wood and it starts bouncing around like a ball. Let it eat ice and it slides across surfaces like a hockey puck. Different blocks produce different results, opening up a huge range of possibilities for builds, redstone contraptions, and mini-games. Mojang showed off a few use cases during the stream but made it clear they're most excited to see what the community comes up with.

Other Announcements

The show also covered the upcoming Tiny Takeover drop (26.1), which redesigns over 30 baby mobs with unique textures, proportions, and sounds. Golden Dandelions and craftable Name Tags round out the update.

On the real-world side, Mojang announced Minecraft World, a theme park land opening at Chessington World of Adventures in London in 2027, featuring a Minecraft rollercoaster and themed attractions. They also revealed Minecraft Experience: Moonlight Trail, an outdoor nighttime adventure debuting in Buenos Aires, joining the existing Villager Rescue experience that continues to tour globally.
