Minecraft Preview 26.50.24: Concrete Stairs Arrive
Minecraft Bedrock Preview 26.50.24 wraps up testing for the third game drop of 2026 with two notable additions: concrete stairs and slabs in all 16 colors, and Explorer Maps found inside Abandoned Camps that lead to other structures.
Concrete Stairs and Slabs
Every one of the 16 concrete colors now has matching stairs and slabs. It's a long-requested block set that finally closes a gap builders have been working around for years, whether that meant substituting other materials or avoiding concrete in detailed builds entirely.
Explorer Maps in Abandoned Camps
Chests in Abandoned Camps now contain Explorer Maps pointing toward other Overworld structures, including Ancient Cities, Mineshafts, Desert Pyramids, Warm Ocean Ruins, and other biome variants of Abandoned Camps themselves. It gives the camps a stronger reason to check every chest, since you might walk away with a lead on your next destination instead of just loot.
Cushion Fixes
A batch of bugs affecting cushions has been resolved. Sitting on one no longer drops you into the ground if its supporting block gets removed, and cushions now correctly break if that block is replaced with a liquid. Named cushions drop the correctly named item when broken instead of a generic one, and the name tag now displays properly on the object itself. Cushions pushed by other blocks now pop into an item as expected, and breaking one now triggers proper particles and a breaking sound.
Other Fixes
Poplar Leaves can now be smelted into Leaf Litter, and all remaining Poplar items have been reordered to sit between Mangrove and Cherry items in the Creative inventory. Straw Bed also received a round of polish: the sleeping camera no longer sits too high above the player, and its texture had floating and invisible extra pixels cleaned up, along with a fix for a single overly shiny pixel in its MER texture.
