The “Trouts and Carps Add‑On” by FrestoNutsPlayz is a Minecraft Bedrock expansion that introduces realistic freshwater fish species—trouts, carps, catfish, stingrays, and more—into the game’s aquatic biomes, inspired by the Roblox game Fisch.
This Minecraft Bedrock add‑on expands freshwater and saltwater biomes with a variety of new fish species. Inspired by Roblox’s Fisch, it introduces realistic aquatic behavior, and interactive aquariums for players to enjoy.
🐠 Featured Species
- Trout – leaps upstream in the rivers
- Carp – most common fish in shallow ponds
- Catfish – a whiskered fish can be found in freshwater rivers
- Stingray– found near the surface of tropical waters
- Gourami – found commonly in tropical rivers
- Tuna – the uncommon fish in the temperate oceans
- Herring – found in large schooling areas of cold oceans
- Featherback – found in the nearby swamps
- Sturgeon – found in the rivers but sometimes in danger
- Prussian Carp – mostly similar to the carp
- Hammerhead Shark – found swimming in warmer waters
- Electric Eel – found in jungle rivers, but instead has shocks so be very cautious
- Sharkminnow – typical bony fishes live in freshwater rivers
- Pike – found swimming in rivers
- Blacktip Reef Shark – a little shark can be seen in warm and lukewarm oceans
- Arrow Crab – can be seen dancing in warm oceans
- Arowana – found in rivers and swamps
- Gar – a prehistoric fish found in murky swamps
- Bass – can be seen mostly in the ponds
- Jellyfish – found wandering the ocean and will zap players who get too close
- Tetra – small minnows can be seen in aquariums
- Coelacanth – a living fossil can be found in deep oceans beneath
- Bluefin Tuna – found swimming in deep oceans and lukewarm oceans
- Barb – small fish could only be seen in rivers
- Rasbora – small fish could only be seen in swamps
- Shiner – small fish could only be seen in rivers and swamps
- Swamp Viperfish – found in the oceans but with a common name "Eeligator"
- Pangasius – shark catfishes that are found in rivers and swamps
- Tilapia – a commercial fish can be seen in rivers
- Piraiba – a largest catfish was rarely spotted in jungles
- Koi – comes with variety of colors in their skin and lives in taiga
- Clownfish – they are commonly seen in warm ocean
- Abyssal Krill – found swimming with groups in warm oceans
- Tambaqui – freshwater fish are likely related to piranha and can be seen in rivers
- Grey Reef Shark – an agile predator that feeds primarily on free-swimming bony fishes and cephalopods
- Green Chromis – can be seen in oceans or lakes
- Anchovy – a small forage fish can be found in oceans
- Orca – an apex predator that lives in frozen oceans which also feeds on sharks
- Arapaima – a large freshwater fish can be rarely spotted around jungles and mangrove swamps
- Octopus – a cephalopod similar to a squid
- Hogfish – a wrasse can be spotted in lukewarm oceans
🦈 Ancient Species
- Anomalocaris – found around the mooshroom island
- Xiphactinus – can be found all around the lukewarm ocean
- Dunkleosteus – can be found in the waters of the warm ocean
- Leedsichthys – can be found in the waterfalls on the rivers
- Mosasaurus – exists from about 82 to 66 million years ago
- Megalodon – will put up an incredible fight when hooked
- Cladoselache – can be found in freshwater and saltwater
- Onychodus – found around the murky waters of the swamp
- Mawsonia – a large fish can be seen in mangrove swamps and they swim slow
🪶 Featured Mob: Featherback
The Featherback is a rare freshwater mob introduced in FrestoNutsPlayz’s Trouts and Carps Add‑On. It’s inspired by real‑world featherback fish but stylized in Minecraft’s blocky aesthetic.
🔹 Appearance
- Sleek, elongated body with shimmering silver scales.
- Distinctive feather‑like dorsal fin running along its back, glowing faintly at night.
- Large, reflective eyes that give it a mystical aura in ponds and rivers.
🔹 Behavior
- Nocturnal: Most active at dusk and dawn.
- Glide Motion: Moves gracefully through water, unlike typical fish mobs.
- Rare Spawn: Appears only in deep ponds and river biomes.
- Collectible: Can be caught with specialized bait and logged in the rarity collection system.
🔹 Gameplay Role
- Aquarium Highlight: Adds elegance to player‑built aquariums.
- Trading Value: Considered a mid‑tier rare fish, often exchanged for decorative pond items.
- Symbolic Mob: Represents balance and rarity in FrestoNutsPlayz’s aquatic ecosystem design.
🦴 Prehistoric Mob: Dunkleosteus
🔹 Overview
The Dunkleosteus is a massive, armored predator from the Devonian seas, introduced as a saltwater boss‑tier mob in the Trouts and Carps Add‑On. It expands ocean biomes with a prehistoric challenge that dominates coral reefs and deep sea caves.
🔹 Appearance
- Heavy, blocky armor plates in bronze and slate gray.
- Gigantic jaw with interlocking bone plates instead of teeth.
- Glowing amber eyes and faint bioluminescent streaks along its sides.
- Surrounded by bubbles and shockwaves when swimming at high speed.
🔹 Behavior
- Aggressive Predator: Attacks fish mobs, dolphins, and players who enter its territory.
- Spawn Location: Rarely appears in deep ocean trenches or near coral reef caves.
- Environmental Impact: Reduces smaller saltwater fish spawns nearby, creating a predator‑prey balance.
- Defeat Reward: Drops Ancient Scale Fragments and Fossilized Armor Plates, used to craft decorative fossil blocks and reinforced gear.
🔹 Gameplay Role
- Boss Encounter: Provides a high‑risk, high‑reward challenge for advanced ocean explorers.
- Collector’s Trophy: Defeating one unlocks the Prehistoric Hunter Badge.
- Aquarium Prestige: Capturing it adds a legendary centerpiece to saltwater aquariums.
