How To Use Them ❓
All weapons have the same basic functionality, all you need to use them is to have their respective type of ammo in your inventory and the guns will do the rest.
Once you have the necessary ammo type for your gun, all you need to do is use your gun, and it will shoot the projectile. It is also worth noting that all guns have a set durability and can be repaired in an anvil using iron ingots.
To reload the gun you don't have to do anything, when the gun is shot it will immediately reload itself.
Crafting The Guns 🧰
To be able to craft all of the items in this add-on, you will need to use a new table added with it, the Firearm Forger:
Once you've made the Firearm Forger, all you need to do is place it down, interact with it, and it will show you a menu similar to that of the villagers:
This menu is where you can craft all items of this Add-On mentioned before, both the guns and the ammo needed for them, including shortened stats for every gun. Making use of the table to craft any item will also grant the player a small amount of XP per item made.
THE SHADOW GUNS 🔮
If you think the power of these firearms alone isn't enough, if you feel like you need more power for your needs, this Add-On also has a solution for you...
Introducing the Shadow Guns, variants of all the normal guns shown before, that behave the same and use the same ammo types, but they have a key difference: Shadow Guns can be enchanted just like a Bow, you are to enchant these with any Bow enchantment, except for infinity, by default (more details about this are lower in the post).
To obtain the Shadow Guns, all you need to do is go to a Crafting Table, and combine a normal gun with one Nether Star, and just like that, you will get the Shadow variant of the gun, Shadow Guns additionally include a higher durability, although the amount of the weapon that can be repaired with iron on an anvil is decreased.
Holding Animations ✨
As a small bonus, this update now brings holding animations to the guns, meaning the player will now properly hold the gun in the air while using it. This is done in a way that does not override any vanilla animations, so it should be compatible with most other addons.
NOTE: Although these do not override any vanilla resources, they still can get a bit funky when used along with some resource packs such as Actions & Stuff, so in case you wanna disable these animations, you can do so from the settings on the resource pack.
Achievements 🏆
As of Minecraft version 1.21.70, this Add-On can be used in a world without achievements being disabled, thanks to a change made in this version. However, this feature MIGHT get removed in future versions, although it is still uncertain.
Disable or Enable Infinity 🏹
Shadow Guns could previously be enchanted with infinity, however now I think that is not very balanced, so now by default they can't have the infinity enchantment. However, if you wish to enable the guns to be enchanted with infinity again, this can be easily changed when applying the add-on into your world by selecting the appropriate subpack:
Resource Pack Settings ☀️
The resource pack for this Add-On now features the following configurations:
- Fancy Particles: The shot projectiles will feature an abundance of particles.
- Reduced Particles: The amount of particles emitted is reduced to improve performance in lower end devices.
- Fancy & NO Holding Animations: Same as fancy particles, but with holding animations disabled.
- Reduced & NO Holding Animations: Same as reduced particles, but with holding animations disabled.
Notes 📝
- This Add-On was made for 1.21.70+.
- This Add-On DOES NOT need any experimental toggles to work.
- There are currently no plans for further updates other than bug fixes.
