Angler's Desire

This addon improves vanilla fishing mechanics, transforming it into an engaging and interactive process. Now, instead of simply reeling in raw items of fishes, you'll have the chance to catch live entities, experience enhanced feedback through text, sound, and visuals, and utilize powerful hook enhancements that can alter the outcome of your fishing adventures. Sometimes fishing can tell a story, offering rare items like pottery sherds and mysterious bottles, and more.

Fisher’s Table

Meet the Fisher’s Table, your essential tool for embracing these new mechanics. This specialized crafting station allows you to add, remove, and view various hook enhancements. Customize your fishing hooks to stack bonus effects, but beware of potential conflicts, making each fishing trip more rewarding and tailored to your preferences.

Hook Enhancements

Hook Recipe

Elevate your fishing game with these five unique hook enhancements:

Nautilus Hook:

  • Increases the chances of reeling in treasures rather than ordinary fish. Uncover hidden riches beneath the ocean.

Luminous Hook:

  • Enhances the likelihood of encountering rare sea creatures. The glow from this hook lures elusive creatures from the deep.

Pyroclasm Hook:

  • Engulfs any caught fish in flames, cooking them as you reel them in.

Tempus Hook:

  • Increases the window of opportunity for successful reeling by adding a small delay, giving you more time to secure your catch.

FSE (Fermented Spider Eye) Hook:

  • Shifts the balance towards catching more sea creatures than items. The pungent aroma draws in sea life.

Add-On Configuration

Customize your fishing experience with flexible settings. Enable or disable multimodal indicators like text, sound, and visual cues for immersion. Operators can also configure the expiration time to prevent AFK fishing and set despawn times for caught entities, adding another layer of control to your gameplay.

Fisher's Book:

Explore the Fisher's Book, a work-in-progress guide that lists rare aquatic mobs, their lore, and catchability.

Fish Chances:

Your chances of catching specific creatures depend on your current biome, weather, and the hook you're using:

Non-specified Biome:

  • Expect common vanilla loots (tropical fish excluded) with a chance of a rare glow squid.

Warm Oceans:

  • Tropical fishes can be caught here.

Jungle:

  • Same vanilla loots but squids, and axolotl (rare) can be caught here with a special hook.

Swamp:

  • Has chance of catching frogs and axolotls (rare) with a special hook.

Deep Oceans:

  • Potential to hook forgotten treasures like pottery sherds, mysterious bottles, and guardians.

Special Mechanics:

Deeply Submerged:

  • Increase your treasure chance by +35% when hook is deeply submerged.

Raining:

  • Rain increases creature-catching chances by up to 150%.
