Mod focused on adding enchanted mobs in a vanilla-friendly way

What if mobs could use enchantments too?

The idea may sound familiar - Minecraft Dungeons already gave mobs their own enchantments. And while there is appreciation for its mechanics, Enchanted Mobs isn't meant to simply bring Dungeons' mechanics into Minecraft.

Instead, the addon takes the concept as a starting point and explores how enchanted mobs could work within Minecraft's own mechanics and design philosophy. Some ideas can be adapted directly, some need to be reworked, and some are better left as experiments rather than forced into the vanilla formula. The result is a system where familiar mobs can occasionally spawn with enchantments, making encounters more varied, rewarding, and unpredictable, all while still feeling like they belong in Minecraft.

Features

  • Vanilla-friendly enchanted variants for both hostile and passive mobs.
  • Around 1 in every 7 mobs naturally spawns enchanted.
  • Enchantments are implemented around their vanilla behavior whenever possible. When an enchantment doesn't naturally translate to mob combat, it is adapted to fit rather than simply discarded.
  • Enchanted mobs provide additional loot and experience based on the effectiveness and rarity of their enchantments, following vanilla progression as closely as possible.
  • Visible mob names and enchantments make enchanted mobs easy to identify, with an optional version without nametags for WAILA users.
  • Configurable enchanted book drops.
  • Multiple enchantment glint options, including subtle variants and a Java Edition-inspired purple glint.

An Experimental Subpack featuring more unusual enchantment combinations and mechanics that go beyond the standard vanilla-friendly rules.

Experimental Subpack

Want to see how far enchanted mobs can go? The Experimental Subpack is where things get a little more... experimental.

It features mobs with multiple enchantments, unusual combinations, Minecraft Dungeons enchantments, and ideas that are intentionally more ambitious than the main addon. Some mechanics may be powerful, weird, or simply not fit the vanilla-friendly philosophy of the main pack - that's the goal!

Consider it a playground for ideas that might eventually become something more.

More mobs, enchantments, and experiments are planned for future updates!

Note: This is my first addon project. AI-assisted tools were used during development, but the addon itself was designed, tested, and refined manually. Feedback and suggestions are always welcome.
