The Cave Dweller was eating dead bodies. A fungus from one of the bodies entered the Cave Dweller's body after eating the corpse, causing deformities and changes in its appearance. As days progressed, the Cave Dweller's body became unnaturally bigger, and the fungus spread through its nervous system; its brain remains self-aware at times. The Cave Dweller is painfully conscious and aware. Its body developed exaggerated features like a new hand, bigger legs, feet, teeth, and big green eyes. The fungus is a very deadly, harmful disease that made him mutated; he is in pain but can't do anything. As soon as he spots a dweller, the Mutated Cave Dweller sees it and does not attack, as the fungus knows it will not win. The Mutated Cave Dweller will start stalking the player and will attack when the player least expects it.
