Ever wanted a pet made of blocks? Now you can. BlockyPets adds 10 unique block-inspired pets to your world, each with custom animations, sounds, intelligent AI, and special abilities.
⚠️ Update Warning
If you are updating from v1.1, please create a new world. Pets that exist in your current world may disappear or behave incorrectly due to changes in internal entity identifiers. Your builds and items will not be affected — only existing pets.

Right-click a pet with its taming item to tame it. Right-click again to sit or stand.

⚔️ Pet Abilities
All pets share these core behaviors:
- ✅ Follow their owner
- ✅ Automatically attack nearby monsters
- ✅ Defend their owner when attacked
- ✅ Can be healed with specific items
- ✅ Sit / Stand with right-click
⚒️ New Blocks
Three classic blocks have been added to the game, each with a crafting recipe:
- 🪨 Stonecutter
- 🌑 Glowing Obsidian
- ☢️ Nether Reactor Core
📌 Important Notes
About Beta APIs and the previous version
If you don't mind enabling Beta APIs in your world settings, we recommend staying on BlockyPets v1.1 for now. We are working on an upcoming version that will take full advantage of scripts to add new functions and unique features for each BlockyPet — things that simply aren't possible without Beta APIs. When that version is ready, it will be worth the switch.
v1.2 is designed for players who want the addon with no extra requirements. The next version will be for those who want the full experience.
Why the Chest and Ender Pet inventory was removed
The 27-slot inventory was removed because it relied on open_inventory, a property that only works with Beta APIs enabled. Without that experiment, the property is invalid and the game ignores it completely — meaning the inventory didn't open at all.
Rather than ship a broken feature, we decided to remove it temporarily. The inventory will return in the next version alongside all the other advanced features we're preparing.
About future updates
Both versions of the addon will be updated together. If a new pet is added, it will appear in both versions at the same time — the difference will always be only the extra features that require Beta APIs. Neither version will fall behind in terms of new content.
