Adds a vanilla-friendly anvil repair mechanic: sneak+right-click with iron ingots or an iron block to repair damaged anvils, with optional instant or two-step modes.

Vanilla Anvil Repair

Have you ever felt that crafting a completely new anvil just because it became chipped or damaged feels wasteful?

Vanilla Anvil Repair introduces a balanced, immersive, and survival-friendly way to restore damaged anvils without breaking the vanilla feel of Minecraft.

Instead of throwing away your anvil and crafting another one from scratch, you can now repair it logically using iron — exactly how it should work in vanilla.

🔧 How It Works

Repairing your anvil is simple and intuitive:

  1. Sneak (crouch)
  2. Right-click / Use on a (damaged or chipped) anvil
  3. Hold One Of Those (In Hand)
  • Iron Ingot (Standard Mode – subpack)
  • Iron Block (Instant Mode – subpack)

🔊Sounds

The addon preserves vanilla sounds and interaction behavior for a smooth and immersive experience.

🟢 Standard Mode – Iron Ingot Repair (Two clicks)

Settings menu for anvil repair options

In Standard Mode, repairing an anvil requires Two iron ingots per repair step.

The system works as follows:

1. First click:

  • Consumes 1 Iron Ingot
  • Plays the vanilla anvil sound 1 (secondary sound different from sound 2)
  • Does not repair yet

2. Second click:

  • Consumes 1 Iron Ingot
  • Plays the repair sound 2 (a bit louder than sound 1)
  • Repairs the anvil to the next damage stage (chipped or fully repaired)

This makes each repair feel intentional and resource-based rather than instant or overpowered.

The mechanic is designed to:

  1. Keep gameplay balanced
  2. Prevent accidental free repairs
  3. Maintain immersion
  4. Feel like you’re “working” on the anvil
  • Each damage stage requires two ingots, making the system fair but still far cheaper than crafting a brand new anvil.

🔵 Instant Mode – Iron Block Subpack (One Click)

  • For players who prefer faster repairs, a subpack option is included:

The system works as follows:

  1. Use Iron Block
  2. One sneak + right-click
  3. Repairs the anvil to the next damage stage instantly

This option is ideal for:

  • Servers
  • Late-game survival
  • Convenience-focused gameplay

You can choose which repair style fits your world best.

⚖️ Balanced & Survival Friendly

This addon was carefully designed to:

  1. Require real resources
  2. Avoid overpowered mechanics
  3. Keep vanilla progression intact
  4. Preserve immersion
  5. Avoid recipe edits
  6. Avoid UI clutter
  • You still invest iron — but you no longer waste 31 iron ingots every time your anvil breaks.
