Metallurgy

Thumbnail: Metallurgy Go to files

This addon aims to add new metals in fun ways!

Overview

At the moment the addon has 14 metals. Here is a quick summary of each one of them, and some other mechanics.

NOTE: this addon is pretty much finished so don't expect any more metals or updates.

Vanilla changes

Regular diamond ores no longer generate; instead they are replaced by rough diamond ores, which drop rough diamonds that can only be smelted in a blast furnace. This change was made so players don't rush diamond gear.

Metals and mechanics

Flint

You can now make a flint toolset, which has low durability.

Steel

Steel is the most basic metal in the addon. With steel you can make the metallurgy table, which is used for crafting most armor sets and items. You can also craft a steel hammer.

Pyrite

Pyrite is a metal/crystal found above Y=0. Pyrite blocks are perfect cubes; when mined they drop themselves. They can be used to craft the Pyrite Idol (which resembles a Totem of Undying) and some building blocks.

Bismuth

Bismuth is a crystal/metal found in geodes in the Overworld. It can be used to make one-way mirrors and some candy. You will need to make the bismuth alloy to craft most of these items.

Bronze

Bronze is an alloy made from raw iron and raw copper. It can be crafted into tools and armor that are slightly better than iron.

Lead

Lead is an explosive-themed metal. It is used to make the Combustion Table, which crafts landmines and an explosive belt — items intended to blow up yourself or your enemies in Minecraft gameplay.

Titanium

Titanium is a strong metal used for surgical-style tools and a new shield.

Cobalt

Cobalt can be processed into blue dye and is also used in recipes for the item magnet.

Magnetite

As its name suggests, magnetite is highly magnetic and is used to craft the item magnet.

Tin

Tin is found in calcite in cold biomes. It can be used to make large arrows that pierce through enemies and to craft the pewter alloy.

Pewter

Pewter is an alloy made from tin, bismuth, and lead. It is used to make the pewter bow, pewter arrow, and the "Flint and Pewt," which poisons nearby foes.

Chromium

Chromium is a good energy catalyzer used to craft many adamantite items and blocks.

Adamantite

Adamantite is a highly energized crystal. When combined with chromium it can craft powerful blocks and items, such as the EMP (which deals damage to nearby foes over time) and the Energy Blade (which grants speed and strength if the user has a cinnabar crystal in their inventory).

Heavy Metal

Heavy Metal (referred to as heavy wind in some recipes) is the strongest metal in the addon. It is created by smelting a heavy core in a blast furnace to obtain a molten core, which can be combined with steel and wind charges to make the heavy metal alloy. You can upgrade tools and armor with the Heavy Wind upgrade at the metallurgy table. Wearing the full armor set grants resistance and slowness.
