Sneak to Grow for Minecraft Bedrock — sneak near crops and they grow automatically
Farming in Minecraft is a loop: plant, wait, harvest. Sneak to Grow changes that loop — just sneak (Shift) next to your crops and saplings and they grow automatically, no bonemeal needed.
One .mcpack file, Behavior Pack only. Works in singleplayer and on servers. The code is a plain script on the stable @minecraft/server 2.0.0 module (no -beta tag).
⚠️ Note: because this addon uses scripts, Bedrock 1.26 asks you to enable Beta APIs in world settings. Keep in mind that enabling experiments disables achievements in that world on most versions — so use it in a world where achievements don't matter. The mod itself has no beta code.
What it actually does (verified in the source)
- Sneak next to any crop (wheat, carrots, potatoes, beetroot, pumpkin/melon stems, nether wart, cocoa, sweet berry, torchflower, pitcher crop) and it grows gradually — each pass advances the plant by 2 to 4 stages, so a field ripens in front of you rather than in one tick.
- Saplings (oak, birch, spruce, jungle, acacia, dark oak, cherry, pale oak, mangrove, azalea, flowering azalea) mature around you, and the mod then builds the full tree.
- The script scans every 12 ticks (~0.6 s) for sneaking players and grows everything in a 9×9 column around them, two blocks above and below.
- Green growth particles (
crop_growth_emitter) mark every plant that was affected. - No chat spam — the mod works silently.
How to use
- Open
sneak-to-grow.mcpack— Minecraft adds the pack automatically. - World settings → Behavior Packs → My Packs → enable
Sneak to Grow. - Enable Beta APIs in world settings (required for scripts on Bedrock 1.26).
- Start a world (or reload an existing one).
- Hold Shift (sneak) and stand next to any plants — they grow on their own.
Requirements
- Behavior Pack only — no Resource Pack needed.
- Beta APIs enabled in world settings (which also turns achievements off for that world).
