Minat'Likha fully localizes Minecraft Bedrock into formal Filipino, translating UI, items, menus, and in-game text to deep Tagalog for immersive national-language play.

Mina'tLikha: Ang Pambansang Wika sa Bedrock

Mina'tLikha (portmanteau of "Mina" and "Likha") is a comprehensive language resource pack designed for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition. It introduces a fully localized Filipino (Tagalog) interface, addressing the absence of this language option in the mobile and console versions of the game.

📖 Project Overview

While many translations keep core terms in English, Mina'tLikha takes a "Purist" approach. The pack translates the game using deep, formal, and sometimes archaic Filipino vocabulary (Malalim na Tagalog).

Target Audience:

  • Native Speakers: Young players who may have difficulty understanding English technical terms.
  • Veterans: Experienced players looking for a new challenge by navigating the game using unfamiliar, deep Filipino terminology.

📝 Translation Philosophy

Game UI and effects in formal Filipino

The pack goes beyond simple translation; it localizes the "fantasy" element of Minecraft into Philippine context. It refuses to use "Taglish."

  • Mobs: Creatures are given localized names (e.g., Creeper becomes Kilabot, Warden becomes Gimbal).
  • Dimensions: The Nether is referred to with the prefix Impyer- (from Impyerno), and The End becomes Wakas.
  • Redstone: Translated as Kulog (Thunder/Power).

🔍 Feature Tour

🖥️ Main Menu (Pangunahing Bunga)

Upon launching, the standard Minecraft title is replaced with a custom "Mina't Likha" logo. The splash text and credits have been updated to reflect the pack's creator.

⚙️ Makina (Settings)

The Options menu, re-dubbed as Makina (Machine/Mechanism), is fully translated. Every toggle, slider, and video setting uses formal Filipino, making configuration feel like operating a complex machine.

📚 How to Play & Dictionary (Paano Maglaro)

The in-game encyclopedia is fully translated. It moves away from casual street slang and uses formal, textbook-style Filipino writing conventions to explain game mechanics, adding a scholarly vibe to the tutorial sections.

⚔️ Items & Blocks (Kagamitan at Bloke)

Game inventory with deep Tagalog interface

Every item name has been localized.

  • Blocks: CobblestoneBatungkal; DeepslateBatumlalim.
  • Items: SpyglassLayo-Tanaw.

🧪 Gayuma (Potions & Effects)

The brewing system is localized as Panggagayuma. Status effects and potions use distinct Filipino descriptors (e.g., Instant HealthAgad-Lunas).

✨ Engkanto (Enchanting)

The Enchantment system is translated as Engkanto (Enchantment/Magic). Weapon and armor modifiers use deep words to describe their power (e.g., SharpnessTalim; UnbreakingWalang-Kupas).

🖥️ UI/GUI

Enchanting menu with Filipino text

All in-game interfaces, inventory screens, trading menus, and chat notifications are translated to maintain immersion.

⚠️ Known Issues (Mga Isyu)

Due to hardcoded limitations in the Bedrock Edition engine or conflicting file paths, the following areas may display English text or errors:

  • World List & World Settings: Specific UI elements in the "Create New World" (Core UI) screen may revert to English if the specific keys are missing from the version.
  • Achievements: The achievement list and titles may remain untranslated in certain versions.
  • System Errors: Some specific system messages are hardcoded by the device and cannot be altered via resource packs.
  • Sound & Subtitle System: Bedrock limitation: sound subtitles (e.g., "Footsteps", "Groans") may be omitted in some Bedrock builds.
