THE CALL OF THE FOREST 1.1 ADD‑ON BY PL STUDIOS
This add-on was created by PixelNaut & TT_LAZAR (the owners of PL Studios)
Overview
Adds The Hunter, a stealthy and intelligent bear mob that stalks players in forest biomes with progressive aggression stages, traps, and customizable spawn/progression settings via the guidebook.
HOW TO PLAY
It is recommended & intended that you set up your base inside a forest. Or at the very least, near a forest. Aside from that play the game as intended, using the default add-on settings. This add-on is a slow burner, and is best experienced that way.
For a quick experience (recording YouTube videos, for example), it's recommended that you set the spawn rate and stage progression settings to their highest level. This way you can cycle through the entire aggression stage cycle in about an hour.
INFORMATION
The creature in this add-on is known as The Hunter. The Hunter is an extremely intelligent bear, whose only goal is to hunt and kill player(s). He'll play with you and trick you as if you're his toy. You might get caught in his well-placed traps, or fall for his deceptions.
The Hunter only spawns in forests (excluding Jungles). He has 5 progressive aggression stages that take about 4 hours to cycle through by default. So for the first few in-game days sightings of him will be rare. You can customize settings such as his spawn rate & stage progression using The Call of The Forest Guidebook, which you spawn in with.
This add-on is compatible with Vibrant Visuals.

ADDRESSING THE "RIP‑OFF" ALLEGATIONS
Upon the reveal of this add-on, many people claimed we (PL Studios) copied idk_someguy's unreleased Java mod "The Manbear". While we can see why users believe this, we can also 100% deny those claims. While making this add-on we knew we would have this issue, since visually the two mods are very similar. So Lazar and I consciously made the effort to differentiate our add-on as much as possible from The Manbear.
As far as we're aware the only similarity between the two is that both creatures are a bear. (The Manbear is a man + bear hybrid.) We even got idk_someguy's approval of our add-on, as seen in the screenshot below.
